Someday I know we will not be suffering from the super heat, and that we will return to the pattern of just hot days, and those wonderfully cool evenings and mornings.

Statue was part of a fountain from my parents' house. I bought two small plant dishes

In the meantime it is just hot! But it inspired me to think about my garden friends: the reptiles and birds. So I decided to create a water feature for them. Turned out I had nearly all of the supplies on hand.

Hose, pump, battery box, and solar panel that needed cleaning

Plant dish, i.e. what you can put under your pots to catch water. Make sure the dish is level

I added PVC glue to attached my pump to the hose adapters

I fed the hose through the statue

The pump was put on the bottom of the dish and topped with pebbles. The pebbles will give the platform strength. It also creates a shallow dish for birds and lizards to bathe.

I cut a space for the hose and power line into the smaller plant dish.

Finished!

No evidence yet that the critters have found the fountain, but now another moment of Zen...
