I love adding green onion slices to my recipes, but sometimes it looks like I just love to order the onions from my local Krogers. Before the onions bless the top of my chicken enchiladas, the onions turn slimy and limp in the refrigerator's crisper. Planting the ends of this spoiled onions will extend their life and give you an endless supply (at least here in Southern California) of the greens.
Just add the cut ends to your garden or container, and cover with soil. Then when you need a green onion, just clip the stem and enjoy an endless supply.
Caveat: Do not plant these near peas, beans or asparagus.
